2 week Iron Man

Hey everyone! This is Brittany! Well I will be the first to admit that I have been kinda slacking in the training department. So yesterday at the family party when I was talking to everyone and hearing all your work out stories it got me thinking about how lazy I am and so today I am making the change! Today I started the 2 week iron man thing that my mom and Dan just finished! I am going to be doing it the next two weeks. I figured that it would be a good way to get me in shape and get me ready for this 5K! So this morning I rode the bike 12 miles! I still have a lot to go but I will be doing another 12 miles tonight so today will be 24 miles on the bike! I am pretty excited to start this. I think it will be a great accomplishment and get me one step closer to the family vaca!!! So anyone who wants to do it with me I would love it! We can keep in touch on this and it will be so much fun! Cort, Amers, Emily, Lisa, and everyone else!!!! I will let everyone know how it goes!!! It was fun seeing you all yesterday!!! Love ya all! Happy training!

I really like this blog idea! I love reading how everyone is doing with their training! I just wish everyone would write more! Ben? kim? greg? cam?
Well I went running today. I hate running. I really don't know how people enjoy it. I get bored and can't breathe and its hard for me to get out and go do it because i know its going to be awful! MOM I NEED YOU TO COME BE MY TRAINER!
Its hard because i have no one pushing me or telling me to keep going so when i'm tired i stop.. probably not a good thing!

6 week training schedule

Here is a training schedule I thought looked doable!
Since there are 4 1/2 weeks left, and if you've done a little bit of running - you might thing about jumping down the schedule a week or two.
The number at the beginning is the total time of your workout. You then alternate jogging and walking for that amount of time it says. Anyone interested?
I am getting excited to see everyone next month. Love you all, Lisa

Family Fun

It sure is fun reading the blogs and hearing that everyone is working hard. I ran with Lisa, Emily, and Spencer this morning and had a great time. I haven't done much trail running but I could get hooked. Much easier on the legs.
I am so excited to be working on this together and the trip will be a blast. I am training hard as well. I run at lunch 3 times a week, swim in the mornings two times a week and hope to start cycling two days a week now that the weather has turned. My goals this year are a sprint triathlon in June, an Olympic triathlon in July, a century bike ride in August and if I am not dead a marathon in October. Triathlons are great so if anyone is interested...
Can't wait to go on the trip. Way excited to make some great memories!!!

my longest run ever~~!!!!!!

well today i woke up around 730~!!!!!!!!!! i was about to die ahaha. well anywho, i told my mom that i wanted to go running again cuz it was fun.( for me) hahah. well we got up in the canyon and i was sooo ready. so i was like im ready. so we started to run and it was easy. then i looked up, and we had to go up this huge hill!!!! i was about to die! but i didnt. the funnest part was the downhill and the rocks and going through the trees. the only bad part was rolling my ankles, and the hills. and we ran like 8-10 miles!!!!!!!!! im sooo freakin proud of myself! because that is the longest i ever ran!!!! woohoo!!! but next time im going to step it up and go faster!~!!!! ya!!!! well it was kinda fun except for the hills!!!!
this is emily!!! :)

WOW Spencer & Emily!!!

OK so today John, Lisa, Spencer, and Emily went for a run with my running group in the trails. It turned out to be about 1 hr 45 min. long run. I am officially an old old person!! - the twins were at the front of the pack the whole way while I was dragging up the backside. sheesh! I am so happy that they enjoy running - and especially willing to go and see why I love to run in the mountains. We saw several herd of deer, ran a little in snow, and ran the top of the water pipe. There is no way I will ever be able to stay up with them - they were impressive! What a great (and hard) morning. I love my family!!!

PREPARATION IN ST GEORGE

This is a weekend for physical, mental, and spiritual preparation with family members in St. George. Kristy, Dan, Brandon, and Bradley just arrived. Greg will be here tomorrow. Lisa, John, Emily, and Spencer will come Sunday morning. We will miss Cam , Ben and family.

In addition to watching conference we should get some swimming, golfing, and hiking in with some good goal-setting.

Dale and Ann are staying with Drew and Joanne, so we should have a good party tonight.

I don't know about running a 5K in Ephraim. I could get shot by somebody who doesn't like the way I stand up for the rights of Pinetree owners.

Love you all! Grandpa Cahoon

can you say snow hiking?

Hi family! I wanted to say what a beautiful hike it was today with everyone. (mom, dad, ben, kim, kids, john, spencer, and of course sammy.) It might not have ever happened, but thanks to Ben's quick reflexes in putting his van in reverse - there were no injuries to report to person or vehicle. It was an exciting way to start off - anyway-we thought the sign said 1.0 miles to big springs which would have been a perfect length for the snowy conditions - but turns out it actually read 1.8! going uphill in the snow that make a big difference. I'm so proud of mom and dad - it was hard work through the snow, and to the girls - each one's feet were completely wet and freezing and they kept going not complaining! way to go everyone! It was a beautiful day and a good start to enjoying activities together. Hopefully next time we'll see Cam and Emily and Mckelle and maybe more. Thught for the day: "We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort." Jesse Owens
HAPPY TRAINING EVERYONE!
Lisa

Hey family, this is Dan, I went on a two hour bike ride in the foothills by my house. The weather was great and the animals and scenery were beautiful. It was all the workout this little wimp could handle as I had to get off my bike at times and push it up some of the little tiny hills. I felt totally free out there with no one around, Just me and the dirt and my bike and animals; There's nothing better to cheer you up than getting into the great outdoors. I recomend this to anyone. Well, let's keep intouch and motivated. Food for thought (say exercize five times real fast, then say extrasize five times real fast) If ya don't exercise then ya extra-SIZE.
I love you all, have a great day.
